Sol is a fierce guitarist and soulful singer who has toured the world with many roots, funk, and blues legends. Sol leads his band Funk Root, which consists of musicians who have worked with bands such as Tommy Castro, Hobex, Corey Harris, Countdown Quartet, Deanna Bogart, Jah Works, and Squirrel Nut Zippers. Sol & Funk Root create a unique blend of Southern fried rock, blues, reggae, and way back yonder funk, all delivered with deep soul, performing tasty original tunes and bluesy, greasy jams.

Sol's talent stretches from fiery rock to laid-back jazz, and from funky innovative grooves to soulful ballads, drawing on a deep background in soulful blues.

Leading a collaboration of professional musicians from the southeast and mid-atlantic US, Sol is no stranger to the road. Sol and his band members having performed festivals and venues nationally and internationally.

Sol has covered much of the surface of the earth on tour, lighting up venues across North America, Europe, Australia and the Caribbean.

Sol has shared the stage with music heavyweights such as Taj Mahal, BB King, Cootie Starks, Cool John Ferguson, John Dee Holeman, Robert Randolph, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Soulive, Derek Trucks, and others. Sol has also performed with members of jam band favorites such as Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Dynamite Brothers, Jah Works, Hobex, Carolina Chocolate Drops and more.

Sol has frequently toured a part of Music Maker Revue. Music Maker is a humanitarian organization that helps support the pioneers of roots, blues, and r&b music.

Paying homage to the greats, Sol seeks to bring Roots Music to a new generation of listeners.
