........ .. .. I'm a 45 year old guitarist and record producer/engineer. I'm married to a super badass social worker, and I'm a daddy to 2 awesome kids. .... I run a recording studio called Armstrong Recording in Tulsa Oklahoma, and play guitar in The Descendents, and ALL. I've recently been writing some tunes with my friend Scott Reynolds (ALL, Goodbye Harry, Pavers, Steaming Beast, etc). Our project is called 40Engine (myspace.com/40Engine), and we plan on recording this winter. One of our songs... Sunny Disposition... is on my little page here. .... I've also been writing instrumental tunes with a couple of friends under the name Slorder (myspace.com/slorder). We just released a 6 song EP on O&O Recordings, which is available through iTunes, Amazon, etc. .... I've also been playing bass and drums on some tracks with a fantastic guitarist named Jason Crowley (myspace.com/crowleyegerton) We've also got a couple of songs up, and several more coming very soon. .... Standing Ovation is a newcomer on the musical front of Rock and Heavy music. Even when the primary stress of the music is emphasized on some progressively seasoned ponderous stuff the heart and soul of the band also has a place for much softer and generally more suitable songs. So we recommend listening to all the songs.
Concerning the general supply Standing Ovation’s music is unique with its iridescent entity and could in that way be suitable for almost any listener. The band isn’t afraid to stand out against the puritans of metal, rock or pop, but combines different musical styles in its candid way still preserving its rugged style. Virtuoso like solos or sweat rising playing performances will not be the main case but trifling with melodies and rhythms with a good taste it will surely be.
