  • Where are we?

Sorry about the inactivity but our dear bassist is recovering from shoulder surgery, he's getting better but Doctors orders to stay off the jams, not to worry- we'll be back in August!
  • 15 year party

Well last Saturday (Nov 7) was the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Dead Guise. Long ago, Ken Younger and Bill Desmidt met up with Dan Albers (who worked with David Gans at radio KPFA Berkeley) and started a Grateful Dead garage band in 1994. We aquired Dan Cuevo on drums and actually thought we were good enough to perform in front of people. During those days we were called the Dead Guys (a group of guys who play Dead). Then we got creative and spelled the moniker Ded Guise. When Dan left we picked up another drummer named Robert who lasted a few months until Kenny Meagher answered our ad in BAM magazine. It was magic! Dan left after a few years and Jeff Faust eased in on bass role. After a few years Bill left and we aquired John Heffernan as rhythm guitar and lead vocals. We also altered the moniker once again as the Dead Guise. Soon we picked up James Miller, then Kenny Meagher left the group. Stevo Sunderbrach slipped behind the skins and we're back at it again. Then Jeff and James went on to play with Workingman's Ed and we found Mike Marino on bass. Back as a quarted again for a few years. Stevo left, Shannon filled in for a year then we found Bob Sicotte. After all this James Miller gets back with us and that's where it's at so far...
Sorry, no timeline available, my memory is shot!
