This is the greenhouse in arcata, ca. (house bulit in 1906). this is a place where people live their lives and also love to occasionally host music played by new or old friends, when they pass through town. what a pleasure it has been to have had so many warm folks play/ stay in our home. thank you! if you are a friend of the house, are a respectful and interested friend of a friend of the house, or would like to become one, then please do come and hang out when we have an event, (and feel free to bring tasty treats to share, preferably vegan). EVERYONE IS WELCOME. please help us out by NOT announcing anything about the house on the radio, or publicizing in local papers. WE ARE NOT A VENUE, we are a family of friends who adore occasionally hosting their friends' live music/ performance art/ films in the comfort of our living room. all donations that collect are given to the touring artists to help pay for their traveling costs. no money is ever made by the house

Next show.......MAKING FRIENDZ + GHOST MOM! on Jan 2nd.

Influenced musically by Kaia Wilson (the Butchies) and Kurt Cobain, among others, South Carolina's Tami Hart was just a teenager when she released her debut on Wilson's label, the pro-queer and feminist imprint Mr. Lady. No Light in August is a startling debut, too, with Hart sounding like she has an infinitely older soul than is healthy for any 19 year old. On songs like the opening "Drunken Love Song," "You're No Good," and the eerily Nirvana-like "The Kids That Call Us Clowns," Hart's emotionally raw folk-pop is tragically beautiful and engaging as she tells her broken-hearted tales of love, loss, and loneliness. And while such topics aren't exactly original, these songs are shockingly disarming in their honesty and sincerity. So while her debut has its few moments of influence-on-sleeve songwriting, Hart is already hitting her stride on No Light in August. Surely, as they say, the best is yet to come.
~ Jimmy Draper, All Music Guide

friend us on facebook to recieve show invites: .. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Arcata-CA/green-house/184679145944?ref=ts ......................................
