Bio
Guantanamo Bay City Rollers is a bunch of a guys that don’t take things too seriously - that’s why the band has such a silly name. We’ve beeen playing on and off since mid 2005, we’ve now got plans to do some touring and record a second release, to be put out probably mid 2010. Basically if it’s a groovy mix of stoner, thrash and grind, we’re in to it. Beer. Goon. Good times. People in the band are all doing a bunch of different stuff these days: Cheese (main guitar/song writing fascist) is in a couple of great other bands: Space Bong and Corrupters. Check both of them out below, they’ll blow your mind. Chappy (vox) has been in a shit ton of bands over the years including Blood Sucking Freaks, Nihilism, Manic Distortion and these days he can be heard smashing the drums in Shit Magnet. They’re great boozy rock and roll. Gardy (current bass) can be heard in God God Dammit Dammit, Adelaide’s finest funk dance machine. Mikey (guitar 2) was a founding member of Stolen Youth and wrote most of their songs until his departure, he and Gardy are working on a thrashy/grind band. Stay tuned. Pete Taylor (founding bassist) has also been in a ton of bands over the years including Gacy’s Place, Keith and Slackjaw and is now busily working away on what’s rumoured to be an ISIS/Sleep/Iron Monkey cross over. Watch out for that. Jon Brooks (drums) doesn’t play music outside GBCR but is doing loads of political stand up comedy around Australia – debut MICF show “Sargasm” in 2010. Stay tuned. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -

Influences
Peer pressure, well calculated marketing campaigns, mob mentality, well placed impulse purchase items near the check-outs, fear of being seen as uncool, general prejudice, David Penberthy and the other fine individuals at NewsLtd, ABBA etc -
