The Heartless Moment was formed on January 2, 2009. Chris Cary is the vocalist and usually thought of as the image of the band; he writes and records his own music while using a backup band for shows. Where does the name The Heartless Moment come from? Chris Cary stated that The Heartless Moment is that time in your life when your so far down that you need help getting back up, and he is making his music to make you smile and to make it easier to get back up from those hard times. Chris currently resides in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma when he is not recording or touring. Chris started his music career at the age of 10 when he received his first guitar. Ever since then he has wanted to be a star. He never took any lessons, but his older brother John (former guitarist of The Heartless Moment) taught him everything he needed to know to get the basics down. Since then he has mastered guitar and also taken up piano, drums, bass, and singing. The Heartless Moment started out as Chris and John Cary, two brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma. They started the band in January of 2009 when they chose to stop following bands and become one, and they claimed the name “The Heartless Moment”. On February 14 of 2009 they decided to go into the studio with producer Kevin Gates out of Springfield, MO. They went up there not really knowing what sound they were going for, but when they left the studio they had their first single “Leave Me To Be”, and also had turned into a pop rock band. Soon after that, they went into the studio 5 more times and recorded their first E.P. and titled it "The Million Dollar Question" which was released on June 23, 2010. They released it on iTunes and PureVolume and played shows on that E.P. for about 1 year until Chris decided to try something that hadn't been done before. Chris wanted to go for a mainstream radio pop sound. So in early 2011, he decided to go record his first single “Heartbeat” with producer Joe Milne. Later that week he went back to the studio to knock out his second song “Party Til the Clock Stops”. After having those two songs recorded he decided to start working on a full length album. At this time John was 24 years old and decided he wanted to concentrate on a different career so Chris became the only member of The Heartless Moment. Chris realized that he was alone at this, but he would make it happen. He has been recording his full length album since the beginning of 2011 with several different producers across the country such as Steve Sundholm (Metro Station, Carrie Underwood, Justin Timberlake), Eric Sauber (The Secret Handshake, Teen Wolf), Caleb Schultz (School Boy Humor, EKG), and See Jay Cochran (Outline in Color, Sleepless in Vegas). He has also had a lot of help from other artist with cowriting on this record such as Austin Bello (Forever the Sickest Kids/Universal Records), Nick Bailey (Runner Runner/EMI Records), David Schmitt (Breath Carolina/Fearless Records), John Roysten (The Bigger Lights/Doghouse Records), and Tanner Howe (Disco Curtis/Interscope Records). “This album will be different. It will have a whole new sound to it. I would consider it a mix of Metro Station’s pop rock side and Kesha’s dancey feel with a lot of fun party lyrics” said Chris Cary. This album will be a breakthrough for The Heartless Moment. It has already brought so much hype and attention and should be a huge success when it is released. Keep your eyes and ears open for The Heartless Moment because they should be everywhere from the radio to covers of magazines soon enough. This band will be the next big thing.
