Fuck the Unsung, Fuck Midasuno, Fuck YOU
I've decided to let slip some snippets of information in the wake of the rather soul-crushing news of Midasuno stopping making music. Midasuno have always been a huge inspiration to myself and the boys, giving us a spurr on to actually continue to make music that in short, noone should like.
I've always thought there have been a lot of similarities between Midasuno and The Unsung - not just sonically but spiritually and we've talked many times about the two bands having some sort of synergy and wing-manning each other for various projects, that like either of us getting anywhere, never happened :).
I sincerely hope that the boys at some point will reconsider, but I fear that it may finally be the time that Midasuno as it is at least may have called it a day, not necessarily the lads, but the entity itself.
Now the main reason for this post is to simply say:
''The pilot light is still on''
Some of you may already have guessed that The Unsung is far from dead. We have been quietly writing, demoing and recording new music over the last couple of months. Our plan is to release a shock and awe double album to nobody at no particular time.
We 'split the band' simply because we were all absolutely fed up of the non-mentality of the music scene and all it's protagonists. Not to say that we look down upon other bands or gig-goers, just that somewhere, something just doesn't sit right for us. This makes it difficult to function honestly actively on the gig circuit.
I feel the need to put this out there now as I always felt we could potter on quietly in the dark whilst Midasuno flew the flag for truly intelligent, independent and baulchy music. That situation has now obviously changed.
It all sounds a bit dramatic, but alas... have you heard our music? it's like fame on smack.
Just remember kiddies, daddies and mammies alike:

band expolsion
Due to Dave's hair the unsung have split!
Dave is going to relax in his mothers fav summer froc, he looks gorgeous so no one worry!
Stu is going to india to work as a cow hearder and play sitar!
Chippers is currently in rehab, and everyone will be happy to know that the doctors have decided to give him the op. He will be known from now on as rose, please everyone respect this!
Bomp is on his way to spacecamp, we will soon be seeing him on tv and the internet hanging around with his new buddies... the russians!
Everyone who has ever taken notice, all 3 of you, thank you, and for everyone else the banana and ky is readily available at most supermarkets.

EP AVAILABLE, NEW TRACKS, TOUR!

What's going on with us then? Lots of stuff to feast your eyes upon!
* The Ep is out. We did a sort of launch gig (i.e.) we hijacked it and got rid of a few copies super duper cheap to some people we really like.
* We played a low key show in the Archways with The Death of an Icon boys. This was a great laugh and right up our current punk rock street.
* We've adopted Nadine B as one of our own! She's taken some awesome photos of us that you can check out here on her site. Go tell her you love her.
* The tour we had planned for December has turned into more of a leisurely stroll. We are currently busy organising ourselves so we've got everything we need. (Knife and fork, screwdriver, plastic bags x 2)
* THE MYSPACE LOOKS GOOD NOW! Thanks Benj.
* We played a new song in Clwb Ifor Bach. It was pretty good. The working title is Home: Part 1: This Inkling Nation is not an Influenced State. The People they like it.
So cheers for reading this and errr... if you want us to write more random stuff tell us! We can talk shit FOR HOURS.

To explain...
We've lost an arm. Fortunately it is the one we used least.We haven't had to cancel any shows with the exception of toms due to people offerring to lend us the use of theirs, or us playing without one. Apparantly we sound quite good without a bass guitar. So there you go.
More news on this soon.
