TIOS Tacoma firmly believes that if you don't exercise your rights, you will eventually lose them. We strive to create a well-rounded magazine that educates, entertains, and involves our community as a whole. We believe that if someone has an opinion they wish to express, they should have an outlet. We strive to be that outlet.

We will print anything, despite our personal values. We feel that just because we may not agree with everything we print, that it still has a place amongst our pages, as it is the diversity in our culture and our community that makes it beautiful. Simply stated: either it is all acceptable, or none of it is.

We are here to exercise our rights, and encourage everyone to do the same.

Music
TIOS Tacoma was founded mostly by people who support our local music scene, as well as local musicians. Every month we feature a band in an article titled, T-Town Music. We also include show reviews, cd reviews, and show listings of bands from Pierce County.

If you are in a band that is playing a show in Pierce county, send us your info before the 15th of the month, and we'll make sure it's printed in the Concert Calendar section of the following month.
Movies
Sir Edmund Taint has recently joined our writing staff to bring you film reviews, and general rants that revolve around the subject.

There's always room for more, if you'd like to submit a review or anything on this subject, contact us to find out how.
Books
Read them! In this world where technology and HDTV is thriving, it feels like we're witnessing a severe lack of intelligence among the populous. When you read, you're exercising the most important muscle you have, YOUR BRAIN.

About me:

.. UPDATE 08/13/08: TIOS Tacoma WAS a free monthly magazine, and it was amazing. We lasted a year and a half before financial burden shut us down. Thanks so much for everyone who believed in us and showed your support. It sincerely means the world to me. I'm going to leave the site up, because it's still a way for people to stay connected, and this may not be good-bye forever.

TIOS Tacoma is a free, monthly magazine spawned from "The Industry of Sound," and brought to life by everyday people. Though we focus heavily on Tacoma, we're here to bring a voice to all of Pierce County. We wholeheartedly believe in freedom of speech and freedom of press.

You have a voice, and you have the right to use it unedited.

We may not agree with everything printed, but we're not afraid to ruffle a few feathers. People should form an opinion and have the freedom to choose for themselves what they wish to read and what they don't wish to read.
