About Tools of War grassroots Hip Hop
Tools of War, co-founded by Jorge "Fabel" Pabon and Christie Z-Pabon, was named with the idea that there are many "tools" one can use in competing/battling within Hip Hop culture: turntables, microphones, paint, one's body, and especially one's voice (and so on)! Although the name might appear aggressive, the intent behind it's use is actually to inform and educate people regarding not only Hip Hop but many other social and political issues. As we grow, we are finding that it has also become a forum for voicing opinions and sharing ideas which might help in unifying and uplifting people all over the world. Services: publicity. events. consulting. promotions. booking. most thorough grassroots Hip Hop newsletter!

Christie Z-Pabon
Tools of War, Publicist, Events Coordinator, DJ Battle Specialist, Consultant

In essence, Christie Z-Pabon's professional efforts are based on communication, unity and community. The weekly Tools of War grassroots Hip Hop Newsletter, keeping thousands informed of local, national and international events and issues, began as a simple email alerting friends about choice underground Hip Hop events going on around NYC. As a publicist specializing in Hip Hop culture, Christie Z-Pabon's e-blasts get the word out, not only to the press, but they go one step further and reach stores and individuals, overstepping the media's role as taste maker and gate keeper of information. She only accepts commissions to publicize artists, books, albums and services that Tools of War truly believes are quality and authentic. Christie Z is also the specialist you go to when you want your DJ battle or Hip Hop event done right. Her attention to detail, high standards and insistence on authenticity has led her to consult on and coordinate many of the most important DJ Battles held in the US since the late 90s including the 1998 - 2000 DMC US Battles; the 1999 DMC World Finals (the first and only time ever in the USA), The Allies All-Star Beatdown, Vinyl Kombat, King or Queen of the Beat Producer Battle (with Jazzy Jay) and the late Roc Raida's Gong DJ Battles. In 2008, she returned to DMC USA to coordinate the DMC American Battleground and run it's branch in the USA. Christie's other passion is throwing true school Hip Hop park jams in the New York City Parks. Since 2003, she's coordinated park jams in the Bronx (Crotona Park Jams), Queens (Turntablist Sessions) and Harlem (Digger’s Delight, Harlem Hop and Salsa Hop) Parks. .All the jams are free to the public and are intended to restore true Hip Hop culture and the legends who kicked it off back to the NYC Parks where they first rocked!
