Grant's been speaking to Tone at Bhone.co.uk. You can read all the latest at this crucial time of it being a matter of weeks until 'Chat' is available.
We've made a massive mistake...we need your help. The mistake is that we only hold one launch party when an album comes out and that stinks of favouritism if you ask us. So this year, we're going to launch Chat wherever we can.
If you have a venue, town, party, funeral you want us to come and launch the album at - then get in touch and we'll do our best to make it happen.
In a sort of Blue Peter style - we want you to help us through a launch party in your area (there are requirements to be met - but nothing we can't work around) - and help us support Toupé and local bands in your area at the same time.
So let's do this - get in touch. You can email me at grant.sharkey@gmail.com if you want to do it that way - or do it through this myspace and we'll see what we can do.
Chat is getting there. We're mixing over the weekend and putting in the final touches - then we've got to get it printed.
It's sounding like Led Zepplin IV at the moment - massive, natural reverbs (no toys making it sound like we're in big rooms - why not just use a big room?). All the instruments are down with the exception of Karl's new double bass (Delilah i believe her name is) - there's a little bit of vocal and vocoder (that's right...vocoder) to do.
The songs are big and hopefully make a nice point or entertain in an effective way. Be ready for some tracks with the Steinway piano in them. When the studio spends out £40,000 on a piano, it's almost rude not to use it! :)
Thermodynamics of Hell kicks it off - if you've been to my recent piano gigs with the lovely Roxy Johns then you will have heard it without Karl and Jay playing. It's mentally massive.
Keep in touch if you want to be one of the first to get your hands on it - we're trying our best to get it out by June. But don't hold us to that.
You've probably already seen them on the front page - but it's worth giving you the back ground to the videos.
They're all taken within the same month. We've been having some of the best shows and audiences lately and wanted to share them with you as we're very proud of the way we can connect with strangers and friends alike with this stuff.
It's all fun and games until someone losses an eye - James Hetfield.
One is of the new song Hairctuz - which is from the new album 'Chat' - we'll be blogging a little about that in a minute - it's lots of fun to play. If you're reading this and you're in a band, or know of a band that have fancy haircutz but sound like the latest fad band, then please play them this song. Let's make music good again, eh? :)
