About me:

I'm Dan, originally from England I started backpacking around the world at 18 and even though I was a performance poet and an actor, I never got over the travel bug to get to any academy. After a brief ill-fated romance with a passport seeking chinese divorcee I met in Kiribati, I "settled" mainly in Hong Kong, teaching English and working part time as an actor. Mostly playing scenery, tourists or businessmen, I was also seen on a large screen at an international rugby tournament advertizing beer while impersonating Robbie Williams, had incredibly minor roles in 2 Jackie Chan movies, and a regular stint as a Halloween performer at Ocean Park. In 2006 I pooled all my resources to get to Hollywood to take a short acting course for 1 month, and in 2008 I went back to the school for 3 more months to learn more of Sanford Meisner's acting technique. Rather than become an illegal immigrant or marry a girl from craigslist after my visa expired, I returned to Hong Kong and was fortunate to land a job on the Chinese mainland as a part time model for a men's clothing company that came with an apartment. Everyone thinks that's a joke because I don't really look like one, but it gives me a lot of time to do my own thing so I can live with that. I started an online business that I'm still building to get back to L.A to study acting for a year or two.

 

That's what I would really love to be doing more than anything. I don't want to be a rich and famous celebrity, I just want the freedom to be able to focus on my studies without waiting any tables.

 

But..I'm a world away right now, I live in Zhuhai in Guangdong with my stray cat Dennis and computer. I'll be back in the UK in the summer.. then on to L.A God willing.
