  • Bio

Longevity, integrity and constancy - these are the hallmarks of "Mr. German Metal" Udo Dirkschneider and his band U.D.O. Already since 1987, the group of the two former members of Accept, Udo Dirkschneider (vocals) and Stefan Kaufmann (guitar) convince with pure Heavy Metal first class. After U.D.O.'s 2009 album "Dominator" was a true triumph, fans and critics are waiting strained for the sequel, which is called "Rev-Raptor" and will be released on 20 May. The first single "Leatherhead" answered the question of the style's alignment of the new work meaningful: with "Rev-Raptor" U.D.O. provide the logical successor to "Dominator". The concise rhythms, with their partly machine-like grooves, are a perfect complement to the traditional and as usual outstanding songwriting of the band. Dirkschneider's incisive voice brings even armoured concrete to quake and the band's sound underwent a further refinement. The band is not keen to just warm up the glorious past of their Accept days, but breaks new ground without denying their roots in the slightest, or getting lost in confusing experiments. U.D.O. are professionals, as they have unfortunately become rare these days. With their kind of self reflecting half-ballad "I Give As Good As I Get", Dirkschneider and band also set a highlight outside of their tough Metal sound, including an appropriate video clip. Even with the cover design U.D.O. go for new ways, as such a sensational, bright artwork in comic style like the one of "Rev-Raptor" has never been before! But be sure that U.D.O., whatever they do, are a constant quality. So "Rev-Raptor" was again recorded in the Roxx studios of guitarist Stefan Kaufmann. 1981 should become an important year for the young band Accept, led by Udo Dirkschneider. They had their international breakthrough with "Breaker" and with "Restless and Wild" (1982), "Balls To The Wall" (1983), "Metal Heart" and "Russian Roulette" many excellent works published within a short period of time. Then there was a break-up: Figurehead Udo Dirkschneider started a solo career with his own band and got off with an excellent start: the debut "Animal House" (1987) as well as albums such as "Mean Machine", "Faceless World" and "Time Bomb" helped Dirkschneider to immediately gain respect with his new band, convince the critics and keep the huge fan base. In 1992, with Dirkschneider back as front man, Accept could once again return to previous success, but already in 1997, Udo continued his solo career and released the "Solid" album. While his former Accept colleagues withdrew completely from the music and the scene in general, it were Dirkschneider and Stefan Kaufmann who continued to bestow the fans with stainless steel from Solingen. Extensive touring was the result of the continuously growing popularity of U.D.O., but it didn't impair the band in their creativity. Actually the complete opposite happened: especially the last two studio albums "Mastercutor" (2007) and "Dominator" (2009) impressed with irrepressible freshness, creativity, enthusiasm and liveliness. Their sequel "Rev-Raptor" now marks another high in the history of U.D.O. --- Management and worldwide booking --- International Touring and Management GmbH & Co KG Frank Suepfle Talwiesen 9 76698 Ubstadt Germany Fon: +49 (0) 7251 - 440 48 10 mobile: +49 (0) 172 - 721 07 02 Fax: +49 (0) 7251 - 440 48 22 fsuepfle@itm-agency.com www.itm-agency.com --- Co-Management USA --- Jeff Keller Management LLC Jeff Keller PO Box 485 Pollock Pines, CA 95726 USA Fon (916) 709-1392 Fax: (775) 255-4730 jpkeller7@earthlink.net

Udo puts the pedal to the metal!!!

Last Saturday (May 12th) Udo drove some laps in a Soviet BMP-1 panzer in Königsee (Sachsen, Germany) and at that he acquired his "panzer diploma". Also on board was Julia Dettke as the winner of last year's EMP "panzer ride" competition. In addition a camera crew of Germany's tv channel DMAX was on site to capture Udo's ride on camera which was probably his most unusual "tour" yet. We will publish the broadcast date as soon as possible. Udo after the ride: "It was exciting to feel how this huge steel giant puts in motion and how to steer this bulky thing throughout the terrain. I was suprised how extremly speedy this machine was. For me a dream came true. I always wanted to check it out. Next time we fly a jet plane."
