This name has become Synonymous with quality, fierce, hard -acid - techtrance over the past few years and the quirky, unmistakable, yet diverse sound has won favour with harder DJs worldwide, with many releases selling out time and time again, and unmistakable DJ sets!.. .. Spearheaded by DJ The Crow (Dirk Nothroff), the story began in 1993 at the 'Reactor Club', which was one of the first techno clubs in Germany. With a decade of DJing already accomplished, Dirk was a resident at the club for four successful years before deciding to concentrate on his DJ Bookings, producing and setting up a studio. His successor was Timo Maas. The three years that followed gave The Crow releases on labels such as Dance Paradise, Blow Up, OXA, with his production partner at the time. The result was three Sales Chart hits in Germany and countless bookings with up to 5 gigs in a week!.. .. Separating from his former production partner after three years of successful work, he teamed up with David Rzenno in 2000, and after sharing musical interests, the two built a studio. This was the forming of Überdruck!.. .. 2001 saw the release of their debut single 'What Ya Lookin At' (Tidy Trax), this was so massive it entered the UK singles chart! The follow up was 'Drugface', the response of this was even bigger! Nobody had heard anything like it and the track has become a timeless anthem in many clubs across the world, setting the trend for bassline pressured hard trance which was to influence producers everywhere! Many radio stations worldwide (with names as diverse as Judge Jules and Dave Pearce) played the track on their shows. The success followed with two more releases 'Now or Never' and 'Bloody Slut', which were licensed to many compilations, and played by leading names in both the hard trance and hardstyle world!.. .. Many productions followed, with projects as 'The Crow', 'Drugface', 'C4', 'Toolboy', 'Schalldruck' and Lazard (their single of '4 AM' entering the German Top 40). Remixes for Organ Donors, Dave Joy, Signum, Gladheads, DJ Shredda, Fallout Boy, Rayden and countless others followed and received worldwide acclaim. The chart success continued with four of their productions entering the Sales Charts in Germany under the aliases 'Lazard' and 'The Crow'.. .. As a label Überdruck Records has catapulted to one of the biggest, and fastest selling labels of its style in Europe and Australia, where many names such as Sam Punk, Mass In Orbit, DJ Slideout, Logger + Gnetic and many others have released many popular productions. Recently modern remixes of earlier tracks such as 'Drug Addicted Psycho' and 'Turntable Junkie' have become standout tracks in DJ sets, and collaborations with Sam Punk and Mass In Orbit followed a similar route... .. Begonnen hat alles als Hobby im Alter von 17 Jahren, in einer Diskothek nahe seines damaligen Wohnortes. Ein Freund seines Bruders war dort Dj. Anstatt sich wie alle anderen seiner Freunde dem Alkohol hinzugeben, (damals gab es noch Cola Bacardi für 99,-. Pf ) stand Dirk technikinteressiert beim Dj in der Kanzel und beobachtete das Geschehen. Als der Dj krank war, fragte die Chefin bei Dirk an, ob er nicht Lust hätte ein paar Abende auszuhelfen. Da er mit der Technik vertraut war und das Musikprogramm kannte, nahm er das Angebot an. .... Aus dieser Gefälligkeit wurden dann eine Urlaubsvertretung und weitere regelmäßige Dj Jobs. So kam es, das er beim Publikum immer beliebter wurde und sich mit dem Resident Dj die Wochenenden teilte. Nach einiger Zeit war er beim Publikum so beliebt, das er in verschieden Diskotheken engagiert wurde, um das Programm zu gestalten. Nach seiner Ausbildung als Tischler, seinem Hauptberuf, zog es ihn immer mehr in die größeren Städte, in denen die ersten Großraumdiskotheken entstanden. Er bewarb sich dort bei den Betreibern und fand schnell den Einstieg in die „Professionelle“ Dj Welt. .... Der Verdienst ermöglichte ihm dann auch die Laufbahn als Tischler zu beenden. Denn bisher war das Dj- ing zwar gut bezahlt, aber nur sein Hobby. Die Konsequenz war, das Dirk sich selbständig machte und bei verschiedenen Diskothekenbetreibern Engagementverträge einging. Als die ersten House und Acid House Wellen vorüber waren und Techno begann sich zu verbreiten, war Dirk es leid jeden Abend Diskussionen über das für manche Geschäftsführer zu harte Musikprogramm zu führen. Er machte den Vorschlag in der ersten Etage der Diskothek, in der er tätig war, (ehemaliger Black Music Club) eine Area aufzubauen, in der ausschließlich Musik für Techno und House begeistertes Publikum geboten wurde..... Als sich die Frage stellte, wer dort auflegen soll, erklärte er sich bereit dies zu übernehmen. Im Liberty Vlotho war somit einer der ersten Techno-Clubs in Nordrheinwestfalen geboren. Der Club entwickelte sich innerhalb kürzester Zeit zu einem Publikumsmagneten, so das er überregional bekannt wurde und sogar Dienstags geöffnet hatte. Nach fast 5 Jahren Residenz im Club und Gastspielen auf etlichen Technoevents traf er dann auf ein Produzententeam aus Hannnover und man beschloss eine Zusammenarbeit in Form einer Techno-House Produktion. Der ersten erfolgreichen Veröffentlichung folgten dann noch weitere Singles und eine Albumproduktion. .... Drei dieser Produktionen konnten sich von 1997 bis 1999 in den Media Control Charts platzieren. Damit begann die Nationale und Internationale Dj Karriere von Dj The Crow. Seinen Künstlernamen verdankt er den Stammgästen, die Ihm den Namen des alten Black Music Clubs gaben. Dieser war aufgebaut wie ein Pueblo des Nordamerikanischen Indianerstammes und trug an der Eingangstür die gemalte Inschrift „ The Crow „. Aufgrund der Charterfolge und unzähligen Fernseh- Radioauftritten bei VIVA, MTV, ZDF, ARD, MDR (Club Rotation, Chart Attack, Dancehaus, Interaktiv) kamen einige Bookingagenturen auf Ihn zu und boten zahlreiche Auftritte an. In den Jahren 1997-99 war er ununterbrochen mit bis zu 5 Dj und Live Act Auftritten in der Woche im In und Ausland unterwegs und zog mit seinem druckvollen Techno-Trance Stil die Leute in seinen Bann..... Von 1999 bis 2000 war er dann, neben weiteren Bookingterminen, im Go Parc Herford ( Space Club ) als Resident tätig. Im laufe dieses Jahres lernte er durch einen Freund seinen zukünftigen Studiopartner kennen. Die beiden beschlossen aufgrund musikalischer Gemeinsamkeiten eine Studiozusammenarbeit. Im laufe des Jahres 2000 entstanden, diesmal im eigenen Tonstudio ohne Kompromisse eingehen zu müssen, einige Produktionen die veröffentlicht wurden. Die erste The Crow Single „ What you..re lookin..“ ist am 15.09.2000 erschienen. Sie war wochenlang hoch in den deutschen und englischen Dancecharts platziert. In England gelang mit dem Label Tidy Trax sogar der Single Chart Entry auf Platz 60. .... 2001 erregte die nächste Produktion "Überdruck - Drugface" für Aufsehen, als sie in der Playlist von Judge Jules und diversen anderen Radio Dj..s in England auftauchte. Daraufhin folgten Remix Aufträge für den englischen und deutschen Musikmarkt. .. Ende des Jahres 2001 entschied sich Dirk sein eigenes Label ( Überdruck ) zu gründen, um von anderen unabhängig seinen Musikstil zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Veröffentlichungen sind unter dem Menüpunkt Label einzusehen. .... 2002 ist die Produktion " Lazard - 4 O..clock " bei Sony Music erschienen. Sie war in allen Dancecharts unter den Top Ten notiert. In den Media Control Single Charts stieg sie auf Platz 35 ein. Das Video läuft auf Rotation bei Viva und es werden weitere Fernsehauftritte folgen. .... Zur Zeit wird an den Folgeproduktionen für das eigene Überdruck Label gearbeitet..... Derzeit tourt Dj The Crow aka Überdruck in England und Australien.....
