D'un père Sénégalais et d'une mère Québécoise, il a toujours été fier de ses origines et se présente comme un SénéQueb métis pure laine. Sa passion pour l'Histoire l'a amené à faire des études universitaires dans ce domaine. Militant hip-hop et anti-raciste, Webster s'implique beaucoup socialement : il fait régulièrement des conférences sur l'influence du hip-hop chez les jeunes et la question multiculturelle à Québec. Côté musical, le Web est actif depuis 1995; il est un des pionniers de la scène hip-hop de la Vieille Capitale. En 2000, il offre un premier projet au public : Winter Walk avec son groupe de l'époque, Northern X. En 2002, il élabore Limoilou Style avec le collectif Limoilou Starz. L'année suivante, il sort le premier album double de rap québécois : Shoddy & Webster présente L'Album Double. Ce projet englobait les projets solos de deux artistes de l'avant-garde de Québec. En 2006, LS revient en force avec l'album Les Boss du Quartier.Webster rap d'une façon particulière. Son style unique est issu d'une fusion entre 8 ans d'expérience de pose en anglais et 7 ans en français. Son riche vocabulaire et sa manière de vulgariser des concepts compliqués font de lui un artiste universel pouvant toucher plusieurs types de personnes. Pour Web, son art est un outil qu'il affine depuis plus d'une décennie afin d'étayer de la manière la plus cinglante son bagage culturel et intellectuel. Avec des textes et des flows hors du commun, Webster s'impose comme un artiste révolutionnaire. <p> Webster was born and raised in Quebec city's Limoilou neighborhood. From a Senegalese father and a Quebecer mother, he has always been proud of his dual origin and sees himself as a straight SeneQueb. His passion for History led him to study this subject at university. Hip-Hop militant and anti racist, Webster is socially active: he speaks regularly about hip-hop's influence among the youth and the multicultural issue in Quebec city. Musically, The Web has been rhyming eversince 1995: he's one of the few pioneers of Quebec city' hip-hop movement. In 2000, he dropped a first project, Winter Walk, with Northern X, his group from back then. With his other collective, Limoilou Starz, he did another album in 2002: Limoilou Style. The next year, he and Shoddy, a member of LS, did L'Album Double, who combined both of their solo project. In 2006, Limoilou Starz came back with Les Boss du Quartier. Webster's delivery is particular, he blends 8 years of english rap with 7 years of writing in french, which gives him a different approach to the music. His rich vocabulary and his way of simplifying tough concepts makes him a universal artist. For Web, his art is a tool that he has been sharpening for more than a decade so that he may lay down his thoughts and experiences in the most surprising way.
