  • funny fun blast from the past rediscovered

    Current mood:quixotic

I was searching through some ancient CDs and found a copy of my first EP from 1998, BEAUTIFUL BLACK BUTTERFLY, recorded by Greg Talenfeld of Waterworks fame (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Pavement, Lynnfield Pioneers). There's a truly horrendous awful line in there but whatever. (I'll let you figure out which one I mean...hardy har ehem....) I still like it.
  • unreleased song from the sessions: "Waiting for You"

    Current mood:bitchy

There's a new song up there! It's an outtake from the debut album, a tune called "Waiting for You." It never lived up to its 4-track version, despite Adam and me working so hard to make it cool. • Waxpoetics

    Current mood:energetic

One of my great pleasures is being a contributing writer and editor to Waxpoetics, the winner of Utne Reader's 2006 Best Arts/Literary Coverage award. If you were born for diggin' in the crates and spending way too much time and money on funk, hip-hop, and soul rarities, and can't get enough of fantastic writing and superb photography on your funky obsessions, then you already know about Waxpoetics and stopped reading this paragraph a few sentences ago.
